The legal bit

The studio is called Probably Fine. A lawyer would like me to point out that "probably" is doing real work in that name. This is the one page where I don't joke around, so here it is in plain English.

Last updated October 1, 2026. By using this site you agree to what's on this page.

Everything here is provided as is

This site, and every project it links to, is offered as is and as available, with no warranties of any kind, express or implied. That includes any warranty that something is accurate, fit for a particular purpose, uninterrupted, or free of bugs.

Projects marked "in development" are exactly that. They can change, break, lose data, or disappear without notice. Don't rely on them for anything that matters.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Probably Fine Studios and Chris are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using this site, the projects it links to, or anything downloaded from it. You use them at your own risk.

Nothing here is professional advice

The tools are tools. Their output is a starting point for you to check, not an expert opinion.

  • Standalone generates files for lasers, 3D printers, and CNC machines. Those machines can start fires and injure people. Check every dimension and setting, run a test piece, follow your machine's safety instructions, and never leave one running unattended. You are responsible for what you cut.
  • Ping is an AI conversation partner. It is not therapy, medical care, or a crisis service. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line.
  • WX shows weather data from third parties. Don't use it to make safety decisions; use official forecasts and warnings.
  • SplitNote does arithmetic. It is not financial or tax advice.
  • FieldKit helps with quotes and invoices. It is not legal, tax, or accounting advice.
  • Not A Cable is desktop software that moves files over your own Wi-Fi. Use it on a network you trust, and keep your own backups.
  • Anything a project says with AI can be wrong. Check it before you act on it.

Getting in touch is not a contract

Nothing on this site is a job offer, an offer of employment, or a promise of pay, equity, or credit. "Collaborator", "partner", and "eager learner" describe conversations I'd like to have, not legal relationships.

If we do decide to work together, the terms (who does what, who owns what, and whether money is involved) get agreed in writing before any work starts.

If you send me an idea, I'm glad to hear it, but please don't send anything confidential. I may already be working on something similar, and sending an idea doesn't create any obligation or agreement between us.

Names, trademarks, and who I speak for

Adobe, Illustrator, and Photoshop are trademarks of Adobe Inc. Other product and company names mentioned here (OpenAI, Cloudflare, Vercel, GitHub, LightBurn, and the rest) belong to their owners. Mentioning them means I use them, not that they sponsor, endorse, or are affiliated with Probably Fine Studios.

Probably Fine Studios is my own independent project. It is separate from my employers and from the organizations named on the About and Resume pages, and nothing here speaks for them.

Unless a project says otherwise, the text, code, and images on this site are © Probably Fine Studios. Projects that live on their own websites may have their own terms and privacy notices; those apply there.

Links to other websites are there for convenience. I don't control them and I'm not responsible for what's on them.
